Sparklebox: web review
Sparklebox Looking for some bright and lively graphics to print out and don’t mind using your colour printer.
Sparklebox provides teaching resources ( but no reason why parents can’t use them) for a whole range of subjects, including maths. There are images which you can use to help with counting, number rhymes, ordering numbers etc. For example, they have the numbers 0 to 20 on red football shirts.
About 50% of the resources are free: a good example of this would be the ladybird number lines, and are well worth downloading (usually pdf). Other number lines include snakes, space, butterflies and dinosaurs.
Some sets of pictures have a fee, usually around the 50p to £1 mark. One example of this is a very clear set of coins. Whole collections can be purchased on CDs costing £10.99 at the time of this post, including p&p.
An unusual site and worth looking at if you are wanting pictures for a bedroom wall or a project. By the way, they use PayPal to process orders.
As there are not a tremendous number of maths resources I have limited marks for this site, but do have a look.
