The Key Stage 2 Maths SAT test results are beginning to hit schools. Some will be happy and some will be disappointed. The debate is still open as to whether this is a test of individual children’s ability or of the school’s ability to teach. The levels were always rather dodgy, with the average 11 year old meant to be achieving a level 4, which is less than one level’s progress a year, but they have now brought in grades between levels! Madness! Don’t take the results too seriously.
