Disabled children targeted by bullies

There is no end in sight for those bullies. Children with learning difficulties are twice as likely to face bullies as other children according to a report by Richard Garner in the Independent Online Education Channel.

8 out of 10 children with learning disabilities are either bullied at school or when they go out in the evening. The survey was carried out by Mencap and highlights the continued problem of bullying in our schools. Children who are bullied are far less likely to do well in maths or any other subject and it is often the cause of children failing to attend school or becoming home school learners. The solution could well be the teaching happiness blog I wrote a couple of days ago.
